Today we are talking about wood, a material used by man for multiple uses since ancient times, given its versatility and resistance. For many companies – whether small artisans or large industries – woodworking is an integral part of the production process.
It is a 100% natural material, moreover very resistant as it is obtained from tree trunks and branches. Specific waste such as: shavings, bark waste, residues from wood cutting and finally sawdust derive from wood processing.
Eurocorporation is the company that deals with the collection and transport of this type of waste, always based on current legislation. It has also chosen to collaborate with selected partners who treat wood waste by bringing it to 100% recovery.
How does the recovery of this waste work?
In principle, the wood waste recovery cycle goes through these various phases:
- Collection
- Transport
- Grinding
The finished product, resulting from this recovery, can be put back on the market.
It is certainly interesting to know specifically the cycle of this type of waste.
Let’s see it together.
The wood waste, delivered in small flakes, is mechanically treated with special equipment that takes care of cleaning: in doing so, the flakes are purged of foreign bodies that would compromise their correct recycling – especially metals, glass, plastics.
The percentage of these impurities is different depending on the wood waste delivered, but in general it never exceeds 5% of the total introduced into the production process.
After this process, the wood dust that can no longer be processed, as it is fine sawdust, is sent for combustion for production use: in practice, together with methane gas, it is used to feed a special dryer that is used to treat the material and bring it to a percentage of dryness close to 100%.
The material obtained is then mixed with urea resins and sawdust.
A three-layer mattress is formed: the top and bottom made of the finest materials and the inside of wood chips.
The mattress thus formed is brought to the pressing, squared into rectangular sheets with standard sizes varying in width of 4 or 5 types and in length, depending on the orders received.
Finally, these panels are placed in special racks and are air-cooled, sanded into the two layers specially formed with fine sawdust.
When they have reached a suitable temperature, they are covered with special papers, colored or imitation wood, grouped into packages and left to rest in storage for a few days, to stabilize temperature and humidity. At this point, the product is finished and ready for sale.
This is the wood recovery process carried out by the plants with which Eurocorporation collaborates, after which the waste has a new life and becomes a product ready for sale.
