When we talk about MISE we mean Emergency Safety, i.e. the interventions that serve to promptly remove polluting sources from certain areas. These problems can occur on a daily basis, due to accidents of great ecological impact and with different severity depending on the substances released into the environment.
We obtain the definition of Emergency Safety from the Consolidated Environmental Act Legislative Decree 152/2006, which identifies it as “immediate or short-term intervention, to be implemented in emergency conditions in the event of sudden contamination events”.
In the phase immediately following the environmental accident and the mandatory communications required by law, it is necessary to secure the area by limiting the damage.
In this regard, there are services guaranteed by Eurocorporation, which allow a prompt resolution of problems related to ecological accidents. It is therefore possible to avoid the spread of pollutants, preventing direct contact with contamination. This can happen, for example, with contaminated soil or subsoil, spills into groundwater or on the coasts, fires of hazardous materials, traffic accidents with toxic leaks. In these cases, specially trained teams for ecological emergency response are needed.
Emergency Safety Measures must be activated in a timely manner, this is essential to prevent the risk to human health. Only thanks to a prompt response, in fact, can the environment be safeguarded.
The operations are always carried out while waiting for further remediation of the environments.
These are just some of the types of interventions:
- removal of waste, emptying tanks, collection of spilled hazardous substances;
- pumping polluting liquids, dissolved or deposited in aquifers;
- construction or stabilization of embankments;
- temporary covering or waterproofing of contaminated soils and sludge;
- removal or emptying of bins or containers, with potentially hazardous substances inside.
